Jeremiah Hunter

Jeremiah is passionate about connecting law firms and organizations with top legal talent.  With an in-depth understanding of the Canadian legal market and a thoughtful, strategic approach to recruitment, Jeremiah acts as a trusted advisor for both lawyers and organizations.

Having navigated an international move early in his professional career (from Australia to Canada), Jeremiah brings great personal perspective to major career decisions that encompass both personal and professional reasons when contemplating a move.  He regularly draws on his personal experience to assist lawyers in identifying meaningful opportunities that best align their personal and professional aspirations that allow them to achieve their best career outcomes.

Prior to joining Smith Legal Search, Jeremiah worked as a lawyer recruiter for a national search firm; he also previously worked as a talent acquisition expert for a major Canadian bank.  These experiences, combined with his background in business strategy and consulting, allow Jeremiah to bring a unique perspective to lawyers as they navigate law firm and in-house opportunities in the Canadian market.

Outside the office, Jeremiah embraces all the natural beauty Alberta has to offer.  He can regularly be found hiking, camping, and getting his truck stuck in difficult outdoor terrain (read: lakes), and skiing in the winter months.  He is also deeply passionate about partnering with First Nation communities and learning more about the many cultures he shares this land with. Calgary is home and he is looking forward to what the future brings for this great province.
