A rapidly scaling SaaS company at the intersection of fintech and enterprise technology is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its high-performing legal and risk function. Reporting directly to the Chief Legal & Risk Officer, this newly created position offers the chance to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, compliance, and HR teams in support of commercial, regulatory, and strategic initiatives. The role involves negotiating complex SaaS agreements, advising on data governance, privacy, and AI-related issues, and supporting corporate transactions, IP, and global expansion.
The successful candidate will bring four to eight years of experience, including time in-house, with a strong focus on technology contracting. Experience with financial institutions, fintech platforms, or privacy and security compliance (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA) is strongly preferred.
