William supports Smith Legal Search as a Research Analyst, building and maintaining the research infrastructure behind the firm’s national practice. Working with the recruitment team across all three markets, he is responsible for the market intelligence that informs the firm’s searches — firm mapping, lateral tracking, and the data work that keeps a national desk current.
William designed and built the firm’s proprietary research tools, pairing AI with automated collection of publicly available market data. He then scripted the entire workflow so that completed research flows directly into the firm’s database — a system he architected end to end and continues to refine. He programs in Java and Python, with additional development work in Unity and GDScript.
Away from the desk, William holds a first degree black belt in Taekwondo — the product of years of training and a standard of discipline he brings to his work at the firm.
