Ready to be the person a busy litigation partner can’t do without?
Our client, a leading national business law firm in downtown Toronto, is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support a dynamic group of lawyers. This is a chance to work on high-profile, complex disputes at a firm known for top-tier work. Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day practices of several litigation lawyers, with a focus on efficiency and responsiveness
- Monitor and manage lawyers’ inboxes, staying on top of file developments and responding where appropriate
- Oversee busy calendars, scheduling meetings and appointments, booking rooms, AV and catering, preparing agendas and arranging travel
- Act as a trusted point of contact for clients, colleagues and outside parties, and build strong client relationships
- Draft, format, proofread and finalize correspondence, court documents and other materials, using in-house document production support where needed
- Open new matters, including conflict and intake research, and set up and maintain electronic files
- Manage the billing cycle from start to finish: chase outstanding time entries, edit pre-bills, prepare invoices, confirm fees and disbursements, and respond to client billing questions
- Support business development, including presentations, speaking notes, pitch materials, lawyer bios and CRM updates
- Assist lawyers with firm leadership responsibilities and external board commitments
- Respond to and follow through on audit letter requests
